Flyglobespan has announced that it will launch two new routes from its Glasgow Airport operations base.
The Scottish budget carrier will add a weekly service, as of the summer of 2009, to the Mediterranean coastal resort of Dalaman in Turkey. One-way fares are set to start from £100.
Along with the new route to the Turkish resort area set to begin next summer, the no-frills carrier is also launching a new service from Glasgow to the resort of Hurghada in Egypt. One-way fare will start from £120.
Flyglobespan's chief executive, Rick Green, commented on the new routes saying that the airline made the decision to add to its timetable after hearing from many customers that they wanted the option to travel to these resorts in Egypt and Turkey.
“We're delighted to be offering this new flight to the Turkish destination of Dalaman,” Green told a reporter from The Glasgow Evening Times. “Turkey, with its rich culture, great beach resorts and reputation as a value-for-money destination, is bound to be a winner.”
In its summer 2009 schedule, Flyglobespan will also be offering direct service from Glasgow Airport to Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Las Palmas, Malaga, Palma, Paphos and Tenerife. |
